Corsica
Throughout this adventure to Corsica, France, participants will immerse themselves in the unique history and culture of this charming Mediterranean island. This program covers the southwest corner of Corsica, and travels from Ajaccio to Bonifacio with stops in small historic towns. Through an exploration of local cuisine, architecture, and self-sustainable island history, participants will explore what makes Corsica unique, and how it functions as part of a larger nation-state.

Day 1
Students are welcomed by Envoys educators upon arrival. After checking in at accommodations, they gather for a safety briefing and team-building activity. The day continues with exploration of the area and a welcome dinner, offering a taste of local cuisine.
Day 2
In Ajaccio, the day begins with breakfast, followed by cultural visits to Chapelle Impériale and Maison Bonaparte. After lunch, an "Amazing Race" fosters team-building. The day concludes with a scenic walk to Plage Trottel, a beach debrief, and a leisurely dinner.
Day 3
After visiting Acquadea Fish Farm for insights into sustainable aquaculture, we visit Olmeto for a fun grocery shopping challenge and a beach picnic lunch. We explore the Distillery Vitalba Essential Oils Producer, delving into the world of aromatic essences and wrap up the day in Bonifacio.
Day 4
We Embark on a culinary day, starting with cheese-making at Valicella Fromages. After lunch, we explore sustainable pig farming at U Porcu Ranger, followed by Corsican agricultural heritage at La Ferme d’Alzetta.
Day 5
We travel to Sartene and engage in insightful interviews with local butchers, delving into the culinary traditions of the region. After lunch, we explore Propriano, delving into the coastal community. The day finishes in Ajaccio, with a delicious dinner and well-deserved downtime.
Day 6
We visit the Garden of Bees, immersing in their enchanting world. Afterwards we visit the tourism office and learn about local attractions followed by an engaging workshop in the University of Corsica. After sunset at Torra Ghjinuvesa di a Parata, the day concludes with a closing ceremony.

What currency is used, and how can I exchange money?
The program maintains multiple lines of communication with the school, families, and Envoys main offices. The expedition will be equipped with local and international cell phones, a GPS transponder, and two-way radios. Program leaders will follow strict protocols to maintain a consistent flow of information. To ensure families are able to follow our trip, Envoys has custom-built a proprietary online platform to facilitate mobile uploading of information. Staff upload photos, videos, and postings feeds to the platform multiple times each day.
What vaccinations or health precautions do I need?
No one can guarantee freedom from harm, including accident, injury, illness, or death. A degree of risk is inherent in this program, as well as in all travel and outdoor activities. Potential hazards include severe weather, public disorder, interactions with non-program participants, lack of medical facilities, exposure to disease, and transportation accidents. Mental health issues may also be exacerbated through the stresses of a new experience.
